Rebranding & Website Development

Founded in 2020, itag aims to foster the growth of the technology sector in the West of Ireland. Over the years, it successfully organised AtlanTec, a global technology festival serving as a platform for thought leaders to discuss, debate, inform, educate, forecast, and evaluate tech innovation. Given the festival’s popularity, the itag Board of Management contemplated the possibility of rebranding the organisation as AtlanTec.

Rebranding and Logo Creation

A brand audit guided the development of a fresh visual identity, considering the legacy and brand value of both existing itag and AtlanTec. Our creative team crafted a brand identity reflecting itag’s personality, upholding their promise, and ensuring simplicity, effectiveness, and user-friendliness. Retaining lowercase lettering maintains the established brand identity, while a new typeface added a friendly touch. A bold weight gives prominence alongside sub brands and other brands.. The vibrant blue imparts a friendly, contemporary feel. The Orgon typeface, with slightly rounded edges, softens the look for a more inviting appeal.

@Naming Recommendations

itag enjoyed significant recognition within its target audience, commonly known as itag without reference to its full name, ‘Information Technology Association Galway.’ The inclusion of ‘G’ in itag, indicating Galway, was deemed a minor concern during the brand audit. To address this, we proposed redefining itag as Innovation Technology AtlanTec Gateway, aligning it more closely with the organisation’s current focus.
Our recommendations were to retain the itag name, coupled with a thorough review and refinement of the brand identity. Clear identity guidelines were essential for consistent brand use, including the development of sub-brands to enhance recognition. New sub-brands and guidelines were developed for the Atlantec Festival, itag Excellence Awards, as well as new forums and events, ensuring a cohesive and recognisable brand presence, all underpinned by the main itag brand.

Website Development

Following rebranding, itag aimed to create an inclusive, community-centric website. The goal was to present a visually striking, modern appearance with a clean design that seamlessly incorporates the new brand identity. The website was required to facilitate straightforward navigation, ensuring an intuitive experience for visitors to easily access content with minimal clicks. It was crucial for the site to authentically represent the breadth and excellence of itag’s activities. The website was designed to highlight upcoming and past networking events, tech talks, upskilling opportunities, and their extensive membership portfolio spanning across Ireland.

Having dealt with Proactive Design + Marketing on previous occasions, when the time came around for a discussion on the future direction of the itag branding, Proactive were our first port of call. From the outset, Ray, Breda, and the team could visualise what we were looking for. We found them to be extremely efficient, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough for their professionalism and creativity.
