Enterprise Ireland Digital Marketing Capability Grant – Fuel Your Growth with Proactive

What is the Digital Marketing Capability Grant?

The Digital Marketing Capability Grant (formerly the e-Marketing Improvement Assignment) is a government-funded support for Enterprise Ireland client companies. The goal is to build in-house digital marketing skills, embed best practices, and develop export-focused strategies to drive international growth.

Eligible companies can receive:

  • Funding of up to €35,000
  • 50% of eligible project costs covered, up to a total project cost of €70,000
  • Support over 8–12 months, with both internal training and external consultancy included

This is a powerful initiative that enables Irish SMEs to futureproof their business by investing in internal capability and strategic marketing.

Who is Eligible?

The grant is open to Enterprise Ireland client companies that are:

  • Actively involved in exporting products or services
  • Ready to scale internationally through enhanced digital marketing
  • Willing to embed long-term digital capability within the organisation

The funding covers both:

  • External expertise from a digital marketing agency or consultant (up to €900/day)
  • Salary support for an internal project champion (up to €200/day, 100-day cap)

What Kind of Activities are Covered?

The grant enables you to collaborate with a qualified digital marketing agency (like Proactive!) to execute a wide range of activities, such as:

1. Digital Strategy & Channel Review

  • Audit of existing digital assets
  • Identification of new international opportunities
  • Development of a digital roadmap tailored to your goals

2. Website & Content Optimisation

  • Website UX and speed optimisation
  • SEO improvements for global reach
  • Creation of high-converting landing pages and blogs

3. Lead Generation & Campaign Execution

  • Google Ads (PPC), LinkedIn & Meta campaigns
  • Email marketing with CRM integration
  • A/B testing and conversion tracking

4. Internal Training & Upskilling

  • Coaching for senior management and marketing teams
  • Hands-on support to embed strategy, tools and analytics

Note: Installing a ping pong table for morale? Great idea. But sadly, not covered by the grant!
