Project Summary

Following the introduction of self-catering accommodation, Proactive worked with the team at The Nest Boutique Hostel to provide brand uniformity and increase awareness of their extended accommodation offering.

The Client

The Nest Boutique Hostel in Salthill, Galway is an alternative accommodation concept, offering home comforts with an industrial twist and a subtle local touch. Warm and inviting open areas have been designed to create an ideal platform for chilling out, reading your book or sharing travel highlights with other guests. Ensuite bedrooms are fitted with super comfy double beds, soft linen, power showers and contemporary Irish artwork

Building a strong and distinctive brand

With the introduction of high quality self-catering accommodation located across Galway City, the Nest Boutique Hostel required a review and refresh of its brand in order to market its extended accommodation offering. Associated with the same brand promise and standard of quality, Proactive worked with the management team to provide a branding structure that would provide uniformity and further increase brand awareness.

We developed the new Nest Accommodation umbrella brand to comprise the company’s full accommodation offering. This will be used in all instances where both the hostel and apartments are marketed together, such as on stationery, on the website (www.thenestaccommodation.com) and in other printed material. Guests staying at The Nest can enjoy an alternative, memorable Galway experience. So whether staying in the boutique hostel or self-catering apartments, The Nest aims to offer a new standard of comfort and laid back environment for all guests.

As part of the project, Proactive prepared brand guidelines, providing an overview of the brand elements that define the new visual identity. This includes the main logo, accommodation sub brands, core and extended secondary palettes, font usage, photography guidance and application examples of the new branding in use.

Colour Palette

The Nest core palette consists of 3 colours. 

  • The Nest – Dusk
  • The Nest Boutique Hostel – Gold
  • The Nest Apartments – Aqua 

The breadth of the extended colour palette enables the client to communicate the unique offering of The Nest Accommodation group and provides the flexibility to effectively communicate the broad subject base and appeal to different target audiences. The palette includes colours that are both vibrant and confident as well as those that are more warm and considered.

Photography Guidance

Images are a key element of identity management. They help to express an offering, communicating messages and style. For the Nest accommodation, that is
– Offering home comforts with an industrial twist
– Contemporary yet warm and inviting environments
– Ideal location to experience Salthill, Galway and the West of Ireland.

When commissioning or selecting images, the following prompts should be considered:
– Is the image uplifting and inspiring?
– Does the image feel real rather than contrived or posed?
– Does it portray The Nest as a high quality alternative accommodation offering?
– Is the image contemporary yet warm and inviting?
– Does it convey our ideal locations across Galway?
